Viewing OEM Enhanced DTCs for Ford and Mazda Vehicles

Mazda Enhanced DTCs are available for Mazda-branded Ford vehicles only. When Ford OEM Enhanced is chosen from the System Menu, the Ford OEM Enhanced menu will display. You may view DTCs for either the Continuous Memory Test, KOEO (Key On Engine Off) Test, or KOER (Key On Engine Running) Test.

Step 1 - While linked to your vehicle, press the System Status button.

While linked to your vehicle, press the System Status button to navigate to your list of scan options. 

Step 2 - Press DOWN▼ to scroll to the OEM Enhanced option then press ENTER ↵.

Scroll through the options in the System Menu by pressing the DOWN ▼ button, and select the OEM Enhanced option by pressing ENTER ↵.

Note: The option should also display either Ford or Mazda as shown in the image.

Step 3 - Select Yes and press ENTER ↵ to confirm your vehicle.

Confirm your vehicle by selecting Yes and pressing ENTER ↵.

Step 4 - Wait for the 5510 to complete the scan.

A One moment please message will display while the scan tool retrieves the selected DTCs. Wait until the scan is 100% complete.

Step 5 - Select the desired test option, then press ENTER ↵.

Select the desired option by scrolling the DOWN ▼ button, then press ENTER ↵.

If the Continuous Memory DTCs is selected, an Instructional message will show:

  • Turn the ignition Off, then back On. then select Continue.

If the KOEO or Continuous Memory is selected, an Instructional message will show.

  • Turn the ignition Off, then back On. then select Continue.

If the KOER is selected, an advisory message shows. Follow the instructional message:

  • Start and warm the engine to normal operating temperature, then select Continue.
  • Turn the steering wheel to the left, then release.
  • Press and release the brake pedal.
  • Cycle the overdrive switch (if equipped).
  • A One Moment please message will display while the test is in progress.
