Innova 5510: How to perform an I/M Monitor Test

I/M Monitor Test

A Drive Cycle for a monitor requires that the vehicle is driven in such a way that all the required Enabling Criteria for the monitor to run and complete its diagnostic testing are met. You can use the 5510 to view the Drive Cycle Procedures in the menu for a selected monitor, both complete and incomplete monitors. You can also view a description of a selected monitor. 

Step 1 - Press the MENU button.

To perform an I/M Monitor Test, press the MENU button.

Step 2 - Select System Tests, then press ENTER ↵.

The Main Menu will display.

Select System Tests, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 3 - Select I/M Monitor Test, then press ENTER ↵.

The System Tests menu will display.

Select I/M Monitor Test then press ENTER ↵.

Step 4 - Select your option and press ENTER ↵.

Select either Since DTCs Cleared or This Drive Cycle, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 5 - Select the Monitor screen.

Scroll by pressing the DOWN ▼ button to view the list of monitors.

Step 6 - To know more about the chosen monitor, press the Description button.

After selecting the desired monitor, press the Description button to know more about it.

Scroll the definition using the DOWN ▼ button.

Press the MENU button to go back to the select monitor screen.

Step 7 - Select Drive Cycle to review Drive Cycle Procedures.

Select the desired monitor, then select Drive Cycle.

Note: If Drive Cycle Procedures are unavailable for the vehicle, an advisory message will show.

Step 8 - View the Note screen for the Drive Cycle.

The Drive Cycle Procedures screen for the monitor will display.

Scroll down using the DOWN ▼ button, and press ENTER ↵ to continue to view the Drive Cycle Procedures for your selected monitor.

Step 9 - Follow the Drive Cycle Procedures as shown on the screen.

The Drive Cycle Procedures screen will show the specific set of operating procedures that ensure the vehicle is driven in such a way that all the required Enabling Criteria for the monitor to run and complete its diagnostic testing are met.

Scroll using the DOWN ▼ button until you are done with the last procedure.
