Innova 5310: Scanning & Viewing DTCs for Vehicle Airbag System (SRS)

Purpose

To guide you on how to view SRS DTC codes while using the Innova 5310.

Note: Refer to the manufacturer’s website for vehicle year, makes, and models covered.

Step 1 - While linked to your vehicle, press the System Status button.

While linked to your vehicle, press the 'System Status' button to navigate to your list of scan options.

Step 2 - Press DOWN ▼ to scroll to the SRS option then press ENTER ↵.

Scroll through the options in the System Menu by pressing the DOWN ▼ button and select the SRS option by pressing ENTER ↵.

Step 3 - Select 'Yes' and press ENTER ↵ to confirm your vehicle.

Select 'Yes' and press ENTER ↵ to confirm your vehicle.

Step 4 - Wait for the 5310 to complete the scan.

A 'One moment please' message will display while your Scan Tool retrieves your SRS DTCs. Wait until the scan is 100% complete.

If the Scan Tool fails to link to the vehicle’s computer, a 'Communication Error' message will show. In this case:

Ensure your vehicle is OBD2 compliant.
Verify the connection at the DLC port, and that your ignition is turned 'On.'
Turn the ignition 'Off', wait 5 seconds, then turn the ignition back 'On' to reset the computer.
Press the LINK button to continue.

If the Scan Tool cannot link to the vehicle’s computer after three attempts, the 'Contact Technical Support' message will display.

Press the System Menu button to return to the System Menu.
Turn the ignition off, and disconnect your Scan Tool from the DLC
Contact Technical Support for assistance.

Note: If SRS functionality is not supported, an advisory message will show.

Step 5 - Press UP▲ or DOWN▼ to scroll through your SRS codes.

After your tool finishes scanning, press the UP ▲ and DOWN ▼ buttons to scroll through the SRS codes.

You may refer to Display Functions for a description of each display element.

When the last retrieved DTC has been displayed press the DOWN ▼ button again to return to the first code.

If the definition for the currently displayed code is not available, an advisory message will show.

In the case of long code definitions, a small arrow is shown in the upper/lower right-hand corner of the code display area to indicate the presence of additional information.

If no codes are present, the message 'No SRS DTCs are presently stored in the vehicle’s computer' will show.

Note: You may also press the DTC/FF button to scroll through your codes one at a time.

To exit the SRS Display Code screen, press the System Status button to return to the System Menu.

Step 6 - To return to your SRS codes press the DTC/FF button.

To return to your SRS codes after pressing any button, press the DTC/FF button to re-display your SRS codes.

If the Scan Tool's communication with the vehicle's computer disconnects, press LINK again to re-establish communication.
