Innova 5410: How to perform an I/M Monitor Test

Purpose

To guide you on performing an I/M Monitor Test while using the Innova 5410.

I/M Monitor Test

A Drive Cycle for a Monitor requires that the vehicle is driven in such a way that all the required 'Enabling Criteria' for the Monitor to run and complete its diagnostic testing are met. You can use the Scan Tool to view the Drive Cycle procedures for a selected Monitor. You can also view a description of a selected Monitor. 

Step 1 - Press the MENU button.

To perform an I/M Monitor Test, press the MENU button.

Step 2 - Select System Tests, then press ENTER ↵.

The Main Menu will display.

Select System Tests, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 3 - Select I/M MonitorTest, then press ENTER ↵.

The System Tests menu will display.

Select 'I/M Monitor Test' then press ENTER ↵.

Step 4 - Select your option and press ENTER ↵.

Select either the 'Since DTCs Cleared' or 'This Drive Cycle' option, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 5 - Select the Monitor screen.

The Select Monitor screen lists all Monitors supported by the vehicle.

Scroll down by pressing the DOWN ▼ button to view the list.

 Select your preferred Monitor screen.

Step 6 - To know more about the chosen Monitor, press the 'Description' button.

After selecting the desired Monitor, press the 'Description' button to know more about it.

Scroll the definition using the DOWN ▼ button. 

Press the MENU button to go back to the Monitor Test screen.

Step 7 - Select the desired monitor to view the Drive Cycle Procedures.

Select the desired Monitor, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 8 - Follow the Drive Cycle Procedures as shown on the screen.

The Drive Cycle Procedure screen will show the specific set of operating procedures that ensure the vehicle is driven so that all the required 'Enabling Criteria' for the Monitor to run and complete its diagnostic testing are met.

Scroll using the DOWN ▼ button until you are done with the last procedure. 

When you are finished viewing the Trip Cycle Procedures, press the MENU button to return.
