INNOVA 3210RS: How to check your LED readiness for emissions testing

Purpose

To guide you on where you can check your emissions testing readiness using the red, yellow, and green LED lights on the Innova 3210RS.

Step 1 - Select the Quick Scan Engine Only.

After pairing with the RS2 App, you can now perform a Quick Scan. Select Quick Scan to scan the check engine codes or any error codes that turn on your check engine light.

Note: After selecting the 'Quick Scan' option, there will be instructions to turn your vehicle on, and to make sure your mobile device is near your scan tool during the process.

Step 2 - Wait until the app reads the data from your vehicle.

The RS2 app will read the data from your vehicle, including the odometer.

Step 3 - Select Generate Report.

After your vehicle's odometer is read by the RS2 app, select Generate Report.

While generating the report, ensure your vehicle is turned to the ON position, and your smart device is close to your 3210RS.

Once the report is generated, a Done message will be shown on the screen.

Note: Your vehicle’s odometer mileage should automatically be recorded in the Odometer field.

Step 4 - View the Report Page.

The Report Page will appear after the RS2 app is done generating the report. It will show the number of codes found and a Results link that navigates to your codes in detail. To access the DTC codes list, select Results.

Step 5 - LED Colors.

A green light indicates that all engine systems are running normally, which means that all emission monitors are active, performing their diagnostic testing, and no DTCs are present. The vehicle is ready for a Smog Check or Vehicle Emissions Inspection and Maintenance (I/M).

A yellow light indicates that there is a possible problem in one or more of the vehicle’s systems that may prevent the vehicle from passing a Smog Check or Vehicle Emissions Inspection and Maintenance (I/M). Either a “Pending” DTC is present, and/or some of the vehicle's emission monitors have not run their diagnostic testing.

A red light indicates a problem in one or more of the vehicle’s systems that will prevent the vehicle from passing a Smog Check or Vehicle Emissions Inspection and Maintenance (I/M). The red LED is also used to show that DTC(s) are present as shown on the Car Reader's LCD display. In this case, the Multifunction Indicator (Check Engine) lamp on the vehicle's instrument panel will light steady.
