Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector: Vehicle Inspection

    Purpose

    To guide you on how to create a report (Customer Report/ Diagnostic Report/ Collision Report) by Vehicle Inspection function while using the Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool.

    Introduction

    As the automotive industry continues to expand, the utilization and quantity of control modules are increasing. Consequently, identifying and fixing malfunctions in their functioning, encompassing mechanical and electrical problems, is becoming more challenging. To tackle this issue, a Scan Tool is essential to establish communication with our vehicles and retrieve their Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). This becomes particularly important when the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the dashboard is illuminated.

    The objective of this article is to provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to create a report through Vehicle Inspection function in a 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross equipped with a 2.0L L4 engine.

    Procedure

    Step 1 - Connect Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool to the vehicle and select 'Workshop Tools' function

    First, connect the Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool to your vehicle via the Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC) to retrieve the vehicle's information, such as VIN and On-Board Diagnostic (OBD2) information.










    From the 'OBD2 Control Display' screen, press the 'Home' button, and after that select the ‘Workshop Tools' section.

    Step 2 - Select ‘Vehicle Inspection’ feature

    The Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool offers you the ‘Vehicle Inspection’ function.

    Besides that, the Scan Tool also offers the 'Scan All Systems’ or the ‘Single System Scan’ function in the vehicle.

    Select ‘Vehicle Inspection’ item then press the ‘OK’ button to enter the function.

    Step 3 – Choose the report type



    The SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool support three types of Business Report including:

    • Diagnostic Report – Provides a report for OBD2 Data, MIL DTC additional Information, Scan All Systems Data, and Vehicle Care.
    • Customer Report – Provides a report for OBD2 Data, Scan All Systems Data, Service Check, Service Warning Lights, and Vehicle Care.
    • Collision Industry Report – Provides a report for OBD2 Data, Scan All Systems Data, Service Warning Lights, and Service Check.

    Select the Business Report type as desired and press the ‘OK’ button.

    To facilitate diagnosis and repair, the Scan tool provides two types of reports as below:

    • Prescan – View the vehicle’s diagnostic report before making any repair.
    • PostScan – View the vehicle’s diagnostic report after completing the repairs.

    Select the type of report as desired and press the ‘OK’ button to retrieve data.

    Step 4 - View the Report Data

    After retrieving the data from the vehicle, the Scan Tool shows the report data in structure as in the image.

    NOTE: The Report Data depends on the Business Report type you choose.









    Choose each item then press the ‘OK’ button to read detailed data.
