Innova SDS50 SDS SDS-Tech: Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Reset

    Purpose

To guide users on how to perform the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Reset function while using the Innova SDS50 SDS-Tech Tablet Scan Tool.

    Introduction

The EPB Reset feature is available in modern vehicles that are equipped with electronic parking brake systems. Unlike the traditional handbrake lever, the electronic parking brake (EPB) utilizes an electronic switch or button to automate the engagement and disengagement of the parking brake.

The purpose of the EPB Reset function is to assist users during maintenance procedures or when replacing components related to the parking brake system. It allows users to reset and calibrate the electronic parking brake following certain operations, such as replacing brake pads, brake rotors, or brake calipers. This feature ensures that the electronic parking brake is properly adjusted and functioning correctly after these specific tasks are performed.

With the EPB Reset function, users can conveniently reset the electronic parking brake without requiring specialized tools or having to visit a service center. This feature empowers vehicle owners to perform basic maintenance tasks themselves, saving time and potentially reducing service costs.
