Innova 5610: Scanning All Modules

Purpose

Guidance on how to scan all modules with the Innova 5610.

Module Scan

Scan all your vehicle's modules at once to check for any diagnostic trouble codes.



Step 1 - While linked to your vehicle, press the System Status button.

While linked to your vehicle, press the System Status button to navigate to your list of scan options.

Step 2 - Press the DOWN ▼ button to scroll to All Module Scan then press ENTER ↵.

Scroll through the options in the System Menu by pressing the DOWN ▼ button, and select the All Module Scan option by pressing ENTER ↵.

Step 3 - Press Yes to confirm your vehicle.

Press the Yes button to confirm your vehicle.

Step 4 - Wait for the 5610 to complete the scan.

A One moment please message displays while the 5610 scans all available modules. Wait until the scan is 100% complete.

When the scan is complete, the All Module Scan screen will display. The screen shows the number of DTCs recorded for each available module.

  • Ensure your vehicle is OBD2 compliant.
  • Verify the connection at the DLC, and verify the ignition is ON
  • Turn the ignition OFF, wait 5 seconds, then back ON to reset the computer.
  • Choose Relink to try again, or, choose System Menu to return to the System Menu.

If the selected module does not support the Read DTC function, an advisory message displays.

Choose System Menu to return to the System Menu, or, choose Main Menu to access the Main Menu.

Note: If the 5610 fails to link to the selected module, a Communication Error message will show.

Step 5 - Press UP ▲ or DOWN ▼ to scroll through the modules, select the module you wish to view DTCs, then press ENTER ↵.

When the scan is complete, the Available Module Scan screen will display. The screen shows the number of DTCs recorded for each available module.

Press the UP▲ or DOWN▼ buttons to scroll through the modules, and select the module you wish to view DTCs, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 6 - Press UP▲ or DOWN▼ to scroll through your DTC codes.

Press the UP ▲ and DOWN ▼ buttons to scroll through the DTC codes.

You may refer to Display Functions for a description of LCD elements.

If the definition for the currently displayed code is not available, an advisory message shows.

I/M Monitor Status icons are not displayed when using the All Module Scan function.

In the case of long code definitions, a small arrow is shown in the upper/lower right-hand corner of the code display area to indicate the presence of additional information.

If no codes are present, the message No (system name) DTCs are presently stored in the vehicle’s computer shows.

Select System Menu to return to the System Menu.

Select Systems Available to return to the results of your All Module Scan.

Step 7 - To return to your all-module scan press the DTC/FF button.


To return to the results of your All Module Scan after pressing any button, press the DTC/FF button to re-display the results of your all-module scan.

If the 5610 loses communication with the vehicle's computer, press the POWER/LINK button again to re-establish communication.
