Innova 5610: Recording Live Data by Manual Trigger

Purpose

To guide you on how to record Live Data information through a manual trigger while using the Innova 5610.

Recording Live Data by Manual Trigger

This option lets you select the precise time at which the Live Data recording will occur. Recording by Manual Trigger can be a very valuable tool when troubleshooting intermittent problems that do not meet the requirements for a DTC to set. The Scan Tool is capable of recording approximately 100 frames of Live Data.

Step 1 - Press and hold the LD button to access Live Data.

While your tool is connected to your vehicle, press the LD button to navigate to the Live Data screen.

A One moment please message will display.

The screen will show a list of your vehicle's Live PIDs.

Press and hold the LD button to access the Live Data Menu.

Step 2 - Select Record Manually, then press ENTER ↵.

The Live Data Menu will display.

Select Record Manually, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 3 - Press UP ▲and DOWN ▼ to scroll through the available PIDs. Press ENTER ↵ for PIDS you wish to display.

The Select PIDs to Record screen will display.

Press UP ▲ and DOWN ▼ to scroll through the available PIDs.

When a PID you wish to record is highlighted, press ENTER ↵. Repeat until all the PIDs you want to record are selected. A Checkmark icon will show confirming your selection.

To record all PIDs, select Record All PIDs.

To deselect a PID, highlight the PID, then press ENTER ↵. The checkmark is removed.

Step 4 - When you are finished making your selections select Done to continue.

The Record Live Data screen will display.

Press the Record button to begin recording.

Step 5 - After pressing the Record button, a progress message will show on the display.

Place the engine in the operating condition where the problem manifests itself. If necessary, drive the vehicle until you reach the vehicle speed at which the problem occurs.

Step 6 - After successfully recording, select Yes to playback Live Data or No to return to the Live Data menu.

When the recording is complete, a confirmation screen will display.

Select Yes to playback Live Data (see How to Playback Live Data for details) or No to return to the Live Data menu.

If the recording was not successful, an advisory message will display. If so, press the Continue button to return to the Live Data menu.
