Innova 1000: Connecting without starting vehicle QR

To connect and read codes, your engine doesn't need to be running, but the ignition must be in the "Run/On" position to fully power the engine controller.

Ignition positions typically include:

1. Off
2. Accessory: Stereo and auxiliary equipment are powered, but not the engine controller
3. Run/On: All systems fully powered
4. Start

For vehicles with a standard key-based ignition system:

1. Plug in your Innova 1000.
2. Turn the key to the "Run" position (just before starting the engine).
3. Ensure your cabin fans are working; if not, turn the key one more click.
4. Start the app and connect.

For vehicles with a push-button starter:

1. Plug in your Innova 1000.
2. Enter run mode (specific to each make and model). Check your vehicle's manual, but here are general steps for some brands:
   • Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Honda, Kia, Mazda: Press start twice.
   • BMW: Press start button 3 times quickly.
   • Volvo: Twist the switch on the center console clockwise for 5 seconds.
   • Ford: Push start button once, then push again and hold for 5 seconds.
   • Cadillac:
     • Some models: Push start button and hold for 7-12 seconds.
     • Others: Push and hold the 'ACC' button for 4 seconds without pressing the start button.
   • Dodge:
     • Some models: Push start button twice.
     • Others: Remove start button, insert key fob into slot, and turn clockwise 2 clicks.
3. Start the app and connect
