Do I need an Internet Connection?
The scanner
The handheld OBD2 scanner is designed to operate independently without an internet connection. You can use all of its basic diagnostic features completely off-grid. This allows for flexibility and convenience, especially in locations without reliable internet access.
The app - RepairSolutions2
While the companion app for the OBD2 scanner also does not require an internet connection for basic functionality, you will experience limited access to several advanced features without it. Here are the features that require an active internet connection:
- Fixes: Access fix suggestions for the issues diagnosed by the scanner.
- Maintenance: Receive maintenance suggestions based on your vehicle's data.
- Predicted Breakdowns: Get predictions about potential future vehicle issues, allowing for preemptive action to avoid breakdowns.
- Service Guides: View detailed guides and service manuals that can help you perform repairs or maintenance.
- Sharing Reports & Exporting Data: Easily share diagnostic reports with mechanics or export data for further analysis. Internet connection is required to share or export information effectively.
BLE requirements
For Android users, enabling location tracking is a technical requirement to use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for pairing with our products. We assure you that:
- Privacy Assurance: We do not use location tracking to monitor your movements or sell your data.
- Technical Necessity: This is strictly a requirement to facilitate the use of BLE features due to Android's operating system policies.
