Innova 5610: How to Playback Live Data

Live Data Playback

Once live data has been recorded, it's saved in the 5610's memory. You can view recorded live data immediately after recording by selecting YES from the Record Live Data confirmation screen (see Recording Live Data for more information), or you can view it later using the Playback function. You can playback live data when connected to a vehicle or playback live data with just batteries in the 5610. In this example, live data playback is being viewed with batteries in the 5610.

Step 1 - Press the POWER.LINK button

• With the 5610 not connected to a vehicle, press the POWER.LINK button to turn it on.
• The current software versions and Tool ID will briefly display while the 5610 loads.

Step 2 - Select the desired vehicle

• Select the vehicle associated with your saved live data, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 3 - Press and hold LD until the Live Data Menu will display.

• The System Menu Memory screen will display.
• Press and hold the LD button to access Live Data until the Live Data Menu will display.
• Press the Vehicle Selection button to return to vehicle selection screen.

Step 4 - Select Playback Live Data

• The Live Data Menu will display.
• Select Playback Live Data, then press the ENTER ↵ button.
• Press the OBD II Menu button to return to the it.

Step 5 - Select Continuous Playback or Frame by Frame

• The Playback Live Data menu will display.
• Select Continuous Playback or Frame by Frame, then press ENTER ↵.
• Press the Live Data Menu button to return to it.

Step 6 - Select Continuous Playback

• When you select Continuous Playback, the 5610 will play the recorded data.
• The display shows the recorded live data, beginning with the trigger frame.
• Press the Pause button to stop or the Exit Playback button to leave live data playback.
• Only a limited amount of PID data can be displayed on the screen at one time. If additional PID data is available, a small arrow is shown on the display. Press UP ▲ and DOWN ▼, as necessary, to view all available PID data.
• When viewing recorded Live Data, look for any irregularities in any of the PID values/signal information (LTFT %, RPM, MAP, TEMP, etc.). If any PIDs are not within specification, or irregularities are detected, follow the procedures in the vehicle's service repair manual to perform additional troubleshooting and repair.
• When playback is finished, the screen goes back to the Playback Live Data menu, and a Playback Complete message will display.
• Press the Exit button to leave the screen or select a live data playback option.

Step 7 - When Frame by Frame is selected, you must scroll the individual frames manually

• When Frame by Frame is selected, you must scroll the individual frames manually.
• When you have viewed all PID information for the current frame of Live Data, select Next Frame or Previous Frame.
• Press  DOWN ▼ to view the other PID data.
• To exit Live Data Playback mode, press the MENU button and you will be redirected to the Live Data Menu.
