Viewing Drive Cycle Procedures

Performing a Drive Cycle for a monitor requires that the vehicle is driven in such a way that all the required Enabling Criteria for the monitor to run and complete its diagnostic testing are met. You can use the 5610 to view the Drive Cycle procedures for a selected monitor.

To view your vehicle's Drive Cycle Procedures, press the System Status Menu button

Select OBD II & press ENTER ↵.

Step 3 - Select Drive Cycle Procedures

The OBD II menu will display. Select Drive Cycle Procedures & press ENTER ↵.
Confirm your vehicle by selecting Yes.

Step 4 - Select the monitor to view Drive Cycle Procedures

The Drive Cycle Procedures menu will display.
Select the Monitor for which you wish to view Drive Cycle Procedures, then press ENTER ↵.
Press the Back button to return to the OBD II Menu.

Note: If Drive Cycle Procedures are not available for the vehicle, an advisory message will show.

Step 5 - View the Drive Cycle Procedures

Drive Cycle Procedures Pre-Condition info will display for the selected monitor. Drive cycle pre-conditions are the specific, initial vehicle and environmental requirements that must be met before an OBD II system will allow emission and diagnostic readiness monitors to run. If these entry criteria are not satisfied, the car's computer will block or postpone the tests, no matter how many times you drive the vehicle.
Press the Continue button to proceed.
The Drive Cycle Procedure screen will show the specific set of operating procedures that ensure the vehicle is driven in such a way that all the required Enabling Criteria for the Monitor to run and complete its diagnostic testing are met.
Scroll using the DOWN ▼ button until you are done with the last procedure.
When you are finished viewing the Drive Cycle Procedure, select the Back button to return to the Drive Cycle Procedure menu or press the Other Monitors button to view Drive Cycle Procedure info for other readiness monitors.
