Innova 5610: Performing an EPB Reset

The EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) Reset function on the Innova 5610 communicates with your vehicle's parking brake computer to retract, adjust, and recalibrate the rear brake caliper pistons.

  • Retracts Calipers for Service: Puts the electric parking brake servo motors into a maintenance or service mode so you can safely compress the pistons and change rear brake pads or rotors without damaging the motor.
  • Performs 0-Point Learning: Calibrates the initial position and travel limits of the rear brake caliper pistons after service is finished.
  • Extends/Engages Calipers: Commands the servo motors to wind the pistons back out to seat against the new brake pads.
  • Clears Warning Lights: Resets the EPB system and clears dashboard parking brake warning lights after completing a repair.

NOTE: Always visit our Coverage Checker to verify if the 5610 will support EPB Reset on your specific vehicle.

Step 1 - Press the M button

  • Press the M button to access the Menu.

Step 2 - Select Service Reset

  • Select Service Reset, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 3 - Select Electronic Parking Brake Reset

  • Select Electronic Parking Brake Reset, then press ENTER ↵.
  • Next, select ABS - Anti-Lock Brake/Traction Control Module, then press ENTER ↵.
  • Press the Back button at anytime to return to the previous screen.

NOTE: The vehicle EPB Reset is being performed on is a 2020 Ford F150. Different vehicle manufacturers will have the same options, but worded different. Also, the year, make, & model of vehicle will determine the EPB Reset functions supported.

Step 4 - Select the desired EPB Reset function, then follow instructions until completion

EPB Service Mode Activation


  • Select EPB Service Mode Activation, then press ENTER ↵.
  • Follow the instructions displayed on screen to perform the function.
  • Use the UP ▲ & DOWN ▼ buttons to navigate through the instructions.
  • Press the Back button to return to the previous screen.

EPB Service Mode Deactivation



  • Select EPB Service Mode Deactivation, then press ENTER ↵.
  • Follow the instructions displayed on screen to perform the function.
  • Use the DOWN ▼ button to navigate through the instructions.
  • Press the Back button to return to the previous screen.

Replace Brake Pad


  • Select Replace Brake Pad, then press ENTER ↵.
  • Follow the instructions displayed on screen to perform the function.
  • Press the Continue button to proceed.
  • Press the Back button to return to the previous screen.

  • Follow the instructions displayed on screen to perform the function.
  • Use the DOWN ▼ button to navigate through the instructions.
  • Press the Continue button to proceed.
  • Press the Back button to return to the previous screen.

NOTE: A confirmation message will display if performing the function was successful or if there was a communication error causing the function not to be performed.

Apply and Release Test

  • Select Apply and Release Test, then press ENTER ↵.
  • Follow the instructions displayed on screen to perform the function.
  • Press the Continue button to proceed.
  • Press the Back button to return to the previous screen.

  • Follow the instructions displayed on screen to perform the function.
  • Use the DOWN ▼ button to navigate through the instructions.
  • Press the Continue button to proceed.
  • Press the Back button to return to the previous screen.

NOTE: A confirmation message will display if performing the function was successful or if there was a communication error causing the function not to be performed.
