Innova 5610: Battery Reset Procedure

Battery Reset

You can use the 5610 to view the procedures for resetting the battery Monitor system following battery replacement or perform battery reset OBD service.

Step 1 - Press the M button

  • Press the M button to access the Menu.

Step 2 - Select Service Reset

  • Select Service Reset, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 3 - Select Battery Reset Procedure

  • Select Battery Reset Procedure, then press ENTER ↵.
  • Press the Back button to return to the Service Reset menu.

Step 4 - Battery Reset Procedure message
  • Battery Reset Procedure message will display.
  • Press Continue to proceed.

Step 5 - Choose the Information you wish to view
  • The Battery Reset Procedures menu will display.
  • The menu provides access to General Information, Battery Disconnection Precautions, Battery Connection Precautions, and Battery Connection Procedures.
  • Select the option you wish to view, then press ENTER ↵.

Note: If battery reset procedures are not available, an advisory message will show. Select Exit to return to the Main Menu.

General Information

  • When General Information is selected, an informational message displays about the Battery Reset Procedure.
  • Press DOWN ▼ to scroll through General Information & press UP ▲ to go back.
  • Press the Exit button to return to the Battery Reset Procedure menu.

Battery Disconnection Precautions

  • When Battery Disconnection Precautions are selected, an advisory & informational message displays.
  • Press DOWN ▼ to scroll through the Precautions & press UP ▲ to go back.
  • Press the Exit button to return to the Battery Reset Procedure menu.

Battery Connection Precautions

NOTE: Not all vehicles will have specific Battery Connection Precautions. For this 2020 GMC Sierra, there were no specific procedures.

  • When Battery Connection Precautions are selected & if the specific procedures are present, an advisory & informational message displays.
  • Press DOWN ▼ to scroll through the Precautions & press UP ▲ to go back.
  • Press the Exit button to return to the Battery Reset Procedure menu.

Battery Connection Procedures

NOTE: If battery reset procedures are not available, an advisory message displays. Choose Back to return to the Battery Reset Procedure menu.

  • When Battery Connection Procedures are selected, an informational message displays.
  • Press DOWN ▼ to scroll through the Battery Connection Procedures & press UP ▲ to go back.
  • Press the Exit button to return to the Battery Reset Procedure menu.
