Innova 5510: Scanning All Modules
Purpose
Guidance on how to scan all modules with the Innova 5510.
Module Scan
Scan all your vehicle's modules at once to check for any diagnostic trouble codes.
To scan all modules
Step 1 - While linked to your vehicle, press the System Status button.
- While linked to your vehicle, press the System Status button to navigate to your list of scan options.
Step 2 - Press the DOWN▼ button to scroll to All Module Scan then press ENTER ↵.
- Scroll through the options in the System Menu by pressing the DOWN ▼ button, and select the All Module Scan option by pressing ENTER ↵.
Step 3 - Select Yes and press ENTER ↵ to confirm your vehicle.
- Confirm your vehicle by selecting YES and pressing ENTER ↵.
Step 4 - Wait for the 5510 to complete the scan.
- A One Moment Please message displays while the 5510 scans all available modules. Wait until the scan is 100% complete.
- Ensure your vehicle is OBD2 compliant.
- Verify the connection at the DLC, and verify the ignition is ON.
- Turn the ignition OFF, wait 5 seconds, then back ON to reset the computer.
- Press POWER/LINK to continue, or, press the System Status button to return to the System Menu.
Note: If the 5510 fails to link to the selected module, a Communication Error message will show.
Step 5 - Press UP▲ or DOWN▼ to scroll through the modules, select the module you wish to view DTCs, then press ENTER ↵.
When the scan is complete, the System Menu will display. The screen shows the number of DTCs recorded for each available module.
Press the UP▲ or DOWN▼ buttons to scroll through the modules, and select the module you wish to view DTCs, then press ENTER ↵.
Step 6 - Press UP▲ or DOWN▼ to scroll through your DTC codes.
Press the UP ▲ and DOWN ▼ buttons to scroll through the DTC codes.

If the definition for the currently displayed code is not available, an advisory message will show.
I/M Monitor Status icons are not displayed when using the Network Test function.
In the case of long code definitions, a small arrow is shown in the upper/lower right-hand corner of the code display area to indicate the presence of additional information.
If no codes are present, the message No (system name) DTCs are presently stored in the vehicle’s computer shows. Select the System Menu to return to the System Menu.
Step 7 - To return to your all-module scan press the DTC/FF button.
To return to the results of your all-module scan after pressing any button, press the DTC/FF button to re-display the results of your all-module scan.
Whenever the scroll function is used and the 5510's communication link with the vehicle’s computer disconnects, re-establish communication by pressing POWER/LINK again.
Note: Initiating another test from the System Status menu such as scanning for SRS will replace the results of your all-module scan shown with the SRS codes when you press the DTC/FF button.
