Innova 5510: How to Playback Live Data
Purpose
To guide you on how to view playback Live Data saved in the Innova 5510 when your device is not connected to your vehicle.
Live Data Playback
Once Live Data has been recorded, it is saved in the Scan Tool's memory. You can view recorded Live Data immediately after recording by selecting Yes from the Record Live Data confirmation screen (see Recording Live Data for more information), or you can view it later using the 'Playback' function using the steps below:
Step 1 - With the Scan Tool not connected to a vehicle, press the POWER/LINK button.
With the Scan Tool not connected to a vehicle, press the POWER/LINK button to turn on your device.
Wait until the device powers on.
Note: Make sure that you place batteries in your device before turning it on.
Step 2 - Select the desired vehicle, then press ENTER ↵.
- Scroll using the DOWN ▼ button and select the vehicle associated with your saved live data, then press ENTER ↵.
Step 3 - Press and hold LD until the Live Data Menu will display.
The System Menu Memory screen will display.
Press and hold the LD button to access Live Data until the Live Data Menu will display.
Step 4 - Select Playback Live Data, then press ENTER ↵.
The Playback Live Data menu will display.
Press ENTER ↵ and the Playback Live Data menu will display.
Step 5 - Select Continuous Playback or Frame by Frame, as desired, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 6 - When Continuous Playback is selected, the Scan Tool will play the recorded data.
When you select Continuous Playback, the Scan Tool will play the recorded data. The display shows the recorded Live Data, beginning with the 'trigger' frame.
Only a limited amount of PID data can be displayed on the screen at one time. If additional PID data is available, a small arrow is shown on the display.
Press UP ▲ and DOWN ▼, as necessary, to view all available PID data.
When viewing recorded Live Data, look for any irregularities in any of the PID values/signal information (LTFT %, RPM, MAP, TEMP, etc.).
If any PIDs are not within specification, or irregularities are detected, follow the procedures in the vehicle's service repair manual to perform additional troubleshooting and repair.
- When playback is finished, the screen goes back to the Playback Live Data menu, and a Playback Complete message will display.
Step 7 - When Frame by Frame is selected, you must scroll the individual frames manually.
- When Frame by Frame is selected, you must scroll the individual frames manually.
- When you have viewed all PID information for the current frame of Live Data, select Next Frame or Previous Frame, as desired.
- To exit Live Data Playback mode, select Exit Playback, then press ENTER ↵.
