Innova 7111: How to Perform Battery Reset function
Purpose:
To guide you on how to perform a battery reset while using the Innova 7111 Tablet.
Introduction
The car battery, an essential part of the electrical system, helps start your car and supply the accessories in the vehicle. Besides improving technology, the battery has a monitor system as sensors and components. So, replacing the battery when reaching its lifespan or disconnecting the battery when repairing, you must reset the ECUs, which monitor the battery, to learn the new operational parameters of the new battery and ensure the engine check light is not turned 'On.'
With Audi/ Volkswagen manufacturers, when replacing the battery with the mAh value, which differs from the vehicle's value, we need to reset/ register to ECUs to recognize and control correctly.
Condition
The battery check light is on in your dashboard. It means you need to check the battery voltage, or in our case, you need to perform a battery reset function with the scanner tool.
Procedure
Step 1 - Connect to Innova 7111 Tablet scanner, open the App, and select 'Workshop Tools' section
First, connect the Innova 7111 Tablet scanner to your vehicle's OBD connector.
Open the Innova application. The application gets the general information automatically as VIN, vehicle information, and odometer.
Next, select 'Workshop Tools' section.
Step 2 - Select 'Battery Reset' function
The application shows the list of reset functions your vehicle has.
Select the 'Battery Reset' function to perform.
Step 3 - Select 'Battery Reset Service'
- Select the 'Battery Reset' service.
Note: The 'Battery Reset Service' is different from other manufacturers. So, the procedure below is just an example of resetting the battery in the 2016 Audi A4 model.
Step 4 - Wait
- The application shows the systems (ECUs) take care of this function and select this system to do the reset function. And waiting for the Innova 7111 sends the reset request to your vehicle.
Step 5 - Select 'Battery Adaptation', then 'Next'
- Select the function 'Battery Adaptation' in the Gateway system. The application shows general information about the battery system in the vehicle.
- Select "Next" and make the request to go to the next step.
Step 6 - Select the battery type of your vehicle
- The application shows you a list of battery types. Select the battery type your vehicle is using.
Step 7 - Select 'Next' and input the 3-digit manufacturer of the installed battery
- Select 'Next' and input the 3-digit manufacturer of the installed battery.
Step 8 - Select 'Next' and input the 10-digit serial number for the battery
- Select 'Next' and input the 10-digit serial number of the battery.
Step 9 - View the battery information
- After doing all the above steps, the application shows you the result below. And checking the battery function light for turning 'Off.'
