Innova SDS50 SDS-Tech: Previous Vehicle

To guide you on how to check the Previous Vehicle Reports of the vehicle scanned before while using the Innova SDS50 SDS-Tech Tablet Scan Tool.

Introduction

It is essential to keep track of Previous Vehicle Reports, the purpose is to help the vehicle owner identify any potential issues, take a proactive approach to maintenance, enhance performance, and ensure the vehicle operates safely and efficiently. The Innova SDS50 SDS-Tech Tablet Scan Tool has a built-in memory that stores OBD2 Diagnostic reports, Scan All System reports and Workshop Tools reports whenever you conduct a test.

This article demonstrates how to save and view the health report using SDS50 SDS-Tech Tablet Scan Tool.

Procedure

Step 1 - Connect Innova SDS50 SDS-Tech Tablet Scan Tool to the vehicle and select 'Workshop Tools' function

  • First, connect the Innova SDS50 SDS-Tech Tablet Scan Tool to your vehicle via the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) connector to retrieve the vehicle's information, such as Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and model.
  • Then, select the function ‘Previous Vehicles’.

Step 2 – Select the report

  • The Previous Vehicles menu displays entries on the Previous Vehicles tab listed in reverse chronological order (most recent scan first).
  • Each entry in the list provides the information as illustrated in the image.
    • Search Bar – Tap the search bar to enter a search criterion – Date and Vehicle.
    • Date – The date on which the scan was performed.
    • Time – The time at which the scan was performed.
    • Vehicle – The year, make, model, trim, and engine size of the tested vehicle.
    • DTCs – The total number of Diagnostic Trouble Codes retrieved by the scan.
    • Report Type – Identifies whether the Vehicle Inspection was saved as a Diagnostic Report, a Customer Report, or a Collision Industry Report, as well as whether it was saved as a PreScan or PostScan report.
    • Cloud Icon – This status indicates that all scanned items have been successfully uploaded to the server.
    • Cloud Icon with X - This status indicates that there is at least one system that was not uploaded or failed to upload to the server.
  • Tap the ‘Search’ icon to find the desired Previous Vehicle Reports by Date, Vehicle sorting.
  • If there are no vehicles currently stored in the Tablet, an advisory message is displayed. Tap ‘Home’ icon to return to the Home Screen.

Step 3 – Select ‘Scan Type’ for more information

  • The report view differs based on the Scan Type previously performed:
  • For the ‘OBD2 Diagnostics’ report type, you can check the status of several emissions-related systems, including Check Engine Light (MIL) status, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), emission monitors, and vehicle info.
  • In addition, you can also get other helpful information like recommended Fixes, (Technical Service Bulletins) TSBs and Recalls, Scheduled Maintenance, and Predicted Failures.   • For the ‘Scan All Systems’ report type, you can review all Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Trouble Codes. The scan tool will display a list of the systems, system status, and DTCs, etc.
  • Select each system in this list to check for more information.
  • To inspect your vehicle deeper, you can refer to the Vehicle Inspection report as in the image. This report includes Emission Inspection Status, OEM Diagnostics, Battery Voltage, Tire Pressure Monitors System data, Service Warning Lights, and Vehicle Care data.
