Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector: Oil Maintenance Reset

Purpose

To guide users on how to perform the Oil Maintenance Reset function while using the Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool.

Introduction

The ‘Oil Maintenance Reset’ function allows you to reset oil maintenance or reset the mileage or driving time to zero after the maintenance by using the On-Board Dianostic (OBD) service or text procedure while using the Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool.

Procedure

Step 1 - Connect Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool to the vehicle and select 'Workshop Tools' function

  • First, connect the Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool to your vehicle via the Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC) to retrieve the vehicle's information, such as VIN and On-Board Diagnostic (OBD2) information.
  • From the 'OBD2 Control Display' screen, press the 'Home' button, and after that select the ‘Workshop Tools' section.

Step 2 – Choose the ‘Oil Maintenance Reset’ function

  • The Innova SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool offers a range of features, including 12 Service Reset functions, as well as the Vehicle Inspection and Battery/Alternator Test functions, as illustrated in the image.
  • Select the ‘Oil Maintenance Reset’ item then press the ‘OK’ button.

Step 3 - Perform the ‘Oil Maintenance Reset’ function

  • The SDS43 SDS-Inspector Tablet Scan Tool supports two types of Oil Maintenance Reset:
    • Reset Procedure type
    • On-board Diagnostic Reset type
  • NOTE: The type of the Oil Maintenance Reset depends on the year, manufacturer and model.

1. On-Board Diagnostic Reset Type

  • Select the ’Yes’ softkey then press ‘OK’ button to perform the function.
  • Wait for the Scan Tool to communicate with the vehicle, after that check the result that is displayed on screen. Select ‘Exit’ softkey then press ‘OK’ button to finish the ‘Oil Maintenance Reset’ function.

2. Reset Procedure type

  • The Scan Tool shows the procedure to perform the ‘Oil Maintenance Reset’ function.
  • After that follow the procedure to reset the Oil change reminder, select the ‘Back’ softkey then press ‘OK’ button to exit the procedure.
