HD OBD: Viewing Live Data for a Selected Module
Purpose
To guide you on how to view live data for a selected module using the HD OBD.
Step 1 - From the Module Selection screen, highlight the system for which you wish to view Live Data then press the LD button.
Step 2 - A “One moment please . . .” message will display while the scan tool establishes communication with the vehicle.
- If the scan tool fails to establish communication with the vehicle, a “Communication Error” message will display.
- Verify the connection at the DLC, and verify the ignition is ON.
- Turn the ignition OFF, wait 5 seconds, then back ON to reset the computer.
- Press ENTER ↵ to continue.
Step 3 - Real-time Live Data (PID) information supported by the vehicle under test will display.
If Live Data is not supported by the vehicle under test, an advisory message will display. Select
Relink to try again, or select System Menu to return to the System Menu.
Step 4 - Select Graph to view the currently selected PID in “graph” mode. Select Text View to return to the PID list.
- With one PID displayed in “graph” mode, select 2 Graphs to graph an additional PID.
- With two PIDs displayed in “graph” mode, select 4 Graphs to graph two additional PIDs.
- With four PIDs shown in “graph” mode, press ENTER ↵ to select each PID to Superimpose.
Select 1 Graph to return to the first PID selected for “graph” mode display, or select Text
View to return to the PID list.
