Innova SD35 SD-Advisor: I/M Readiness Status

Purpose

To guide you on how to check the I/M Readiness Status on the Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool.

Introduction

The vehicle’s computer stores a record of monitor status upon the completion of a full diagnostic check of all monitored components and systems since the computer’s memory was last cleared.

The I/M Readiness Status - $01, $41 feature displays which vehicle Monitor has or has not run and completed testing of their designated sections within the vehicle’s emissions control system. Additionally, it also provides descriptions for each monitor.

Procedure

Step 1 - Connect the Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool to the vehicle and select 'OBD2 Diagnostics.'

• First, connect the Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool to your vehicle via the Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC) to retrieve the vehicle's information.
• Then, select the 'OBD2 Diagnostics' function.

Step 2 – Check the I/M Readiness Status.

• From the OBD2 Menu, select I/M Readiness Status - $01, $41.

Step 3 - Select the 'Since DTCs Cleared - $01' or 'This Drive Cycle - $41', as appropriate.

Step 4 - Check the I/M Monitor Status.

• The Select Monitor screen displays a list of all Monitors supported by the vehicle.
• To view a Monitor description, select the desired Monitor, then select Description.

• To view Drive Cycle Procedures for a Monitor, select the desired Monitor, then select Drive Cycle.
• The Drive Cycle Procedure screen shows the specific set of operating procedures that ensure the vehicle is driven in such a way that all the required “Enabling Criteria” for the Monitor to run and complete its diagnostic testing are met.
• The scan tool displays the steps of the procedure on the screen. The user must ensure that the vehicle is in the required condition and follow each step carefully.
