Innova SD35 SD-Advisor: How to Perform the Drive Cycle
Purpose
To guide you on how to perform the Drive Cycle using the SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool.
Introduction
A Drive Cycle for a Monitor requires that the vehicle is driven in such a way that all the required “Enabling Criteria” for the Monitor to run and complete its diagnostic testing are met. You can use the Tablet to view the Drive Cycle Procedures for a selected Monitor.
Procedure
Step 1 - Connect the Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool to the vehicle and select 'OBD2 Diagnostics.'
- First, connect the Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool to your vehicle via the Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC) to retrieve the vehicle's information.
- Then, select the 'OBD2 Diagnostics' function.
Step 2 – Select the Drive Cycle Procedures function.
- From the OBD2 Menu, select Drive Cycle Procedures, then press the OK button. A “One moment please…” message will display while the Tablet retrieves the Monitor status.
- Note: If the Tablet retrieves Permanent DTCs only, MIL Off and California state is selected, Drive Cycle Procedures can be viewed from the OBD2 Diagnostic screen.
Step 3 – Select between Complete, Incomplete, or Disabled Monitors.
- When the Monitor status has been retrieved, the Drive Cycle Procedures menu will display. Depending on the Monitor status, you can view Drive Cycle Procedures for the following monitors:
- Complete Monitors
- Incomplete Monitors
- Disabled Monitors
- Note: If Drive Cycle Procedures are not available for the vehicle, an advisory message will be displayed. Press Back to return to the OBD2 Menu.
Step 4 – Select the type of Monitor from the options.
- Select the type of monitor as desired, then press OK.
- Note: If no Monitors for the selected status are detected, an advisory message will display. Press Back to return to the OBD2 Menu.
Step 5 - View the Drive Cycle procedure.
- The Drive Cycle Procedure screen shows the specific set of operating procedures that ensure the vehicle is driven in such a way that all the required “Enabling Criteria” for the Monitor to properly run and complete its diagnostic testing.
- When finished viewing the Drive Cycle Procedures, press Back to return to the Drive Cycle Procedures menu.
