Innova SD35 SD-Advisor: Battery Reset - Audi/Volkswagen

Purpose

To guide you on how to perform a battery OBD reset service for Audi and Volkswagen vehicle models using the Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool.

Procedure

Step 1 - Connect the Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool to the vehicle and select the 'Workshop Tools' function.

• First, connect the Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool to your vehicle via the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) connector to retrieve the vehicle's information, such as Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and model.
• Then, select the 'Workshop Tools' function.

Step 2 – Select the ‘Battery Initiation’ function.

• Select the 'Battery Initialization' from the list of functions.
• Confirm your vehicle.
• Select [19] Gateway

Step 3 - Select the 'Battery Adaptation' function.

• Battery Adaptation will display.
• A series of “instructional” screens will display, directing you to enter reference information for the battery:
• Battery Capacity: The first three digits of the battery capacity
• Battery Technology: The battery technology 
• Battery Manufacturer: The three symbols for the manufacturer code
• Battery Serial number: The 10-digit serial number 
• Select Next as necessary to scroll the screen and enter the necessary information.
  • A “confirmation” screen will display.
  • The screen shows the previously entered Battery Part Number, Battery Manufacturer and Battery Serial Number.

Step 4 - Follow the instructions.

Battery Adaptation Values Successfully Transferred

• After entering the correct values for Battery Capacity, Battery Technology, Battery Manufacturer, and Serial Number, a message will display stating: The adaptation value was transferred successfully.
