Innova SD35 SD-Advisor: Viewing the Vehicle Information
Purpose
To explain to you how to view your Vehicle Information while using the Innova SD35 SD-AdvisorTablet Scan Tool.
Introduction
The Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool lets you view your Vehicle Information. This function provides a variety of information about your vehicle, such as its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Manufateret, Model, Engine, Control Module Identification Number, and other relevant details. This information can be helpful for vehicle owners, as well as Technicians or garages, to diagnose problems, make informed decisions about repairs, and keep vehicles running smoothly.
The Tablet offers three options for retrieving reference information for the vehicle under test:
- Vehicle ID (ID)
- Available Modules
- In-use Performance Tracking (IPT)
Procedure
Step 1 - Connect the Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool to the vehicle and select the 'OBD2 Diagnostics' function.
- First, connect the Innova SD35 SD-Advisor Tablet Scan Tool to your vehicle via the Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC) to retrieve the vehicle's information.
Step 2 – View the Vehicle Information.
- From the ‘OBD2 Menu’, select Vehicle Information - $09, then press OK.
Vehicle ID
Note: The Vehicle ID function applies to model year 2000 and newer OBD2-compliant vehicles.
- The Tablet can retrieve a list of information (provided by the vehicle’s manufacturer), unique to the vehicle under test, from its on-board computer. This information may include:
- The vehicle’s VIN number.
- The control module identification number.
- The vehicle’s calibration ID(s). These IDs uniquely identify the software version(s) for the vehicle’s control module(s).
- The Vehicle’s Calibration Verification Number(s) (CVNs) required by ODB2 regulations. CVNs are used to determine if emission-related calibrations for the vehicle under test have been changed. One or more CVNs may be provided by the vehicle’s computer.
- From the 'Vehicle Information - $09' screen, select Vehicle ID, then press OK.
- Note: The first time the Vehicle ID function is used, it may take several minutes to retrieve the information from the vehicle’s computer.
- When the retrieval process is completed, the vehicle ID information will be displayed.
- When you are done viewing the retrieved vehicle ID information, press Back to Vehicle Information menu.
Available Modules
- From the 'Vehicle Information - $09' screen, select the 'Available Modules' function, then press OK.
- When the retrieval process is completed, a complete list of modules supported by the vehicle under test will be displayed.
- When you have finished viewing the list of available modules, press Back to return to the Vehicle Information menu.
In-Use Performance Tracking
- From the 'Vehicle Information - $09' screen, select the 'In-Use Performance Tracking' function, then press OK.
- When the retrieval process is completed, the In-use Performance Tracking statistics for the vehicle under test will be displayed.
- If In-use Performance Tracking is not available for your vehicle, an advisory message will show on the diagnostic tablet’s display. Press Back to return to the Vehicle Information Menu.
- When you have finished viewing the list of available modules, press Back to return to the Vehicle Information menu.
