I/M Readiness Status - PIDS $01 & $41

The vehicle’s computer stores a record of Monitor status upon completion of a full diagnostic check of all monitored components and systems since the computer’s memory was last cleared. The I/M Readiness Status - PIDs $01 & $41 feature displays which vehicle particular Monitors have or have not run and completed testing of their designated sections within the vehicle’s emissions control system. Additionally, it provides descriptions for each Monitor.

Step 1 - Press the MENU button.

While linked to the vehicle, press the M button to access the Main Menu.

Step 2 - Select System Tests, then press ENTER ↵.

The Main Menu will display. Select System Tests, then press ENTER ↵.

Step 3 - Select I/M Readiness Status, then press ENTER ↵.

Select I/M Readiness Status - PIDs $01 & $41.

Press ENTER ↵.

Step 4 - Select your option and press ENTER ↵.

Select either Since DTCs Cleared or

This Drive Cycle option, then press ENTER ↵.

NOTE: If the vehicle under test does not support Since DTCs Cleared or This Drive Cycle, a “warning” message displays “This vehicle does not support this Monitor type.” Press the M button to return to the previous dialog.

Step 5 - Monitor Selection Screen.

The monitor selection screen displays

and lists all monitors supported by the vehicle.

Scroll down by pressing the DOWN ▼

to view the list.

After selecting the monitor you want to

view the description for, press ENTER ↵.

Step 6 - View Monitor Description .

Select Description, then press ENTER ↵.


Scroll the description using the DOWN ▼ button.

Press the M button to return to the Monitor Test screen.

NOTE: If Drive Cycle Procedures are not available for the vehicle, an “advisory” message displays. Press M to return to the Main Menu.

Step 7 - View Drive Cycle Procedures.

To view a Drive Cycle Procedure

for a Monitor, choose Drive Cycle,

then press ENTER ↵.

Scroll through the Drive Cycle Procedures

using the DOWN ▼ button.

Press the M button to return to

the monitor test screen.

Step 8 - Follow the Drive Cycle Procedures.

The Drive Cycle Procedures screen

displays the specific set of operating

procedures that ensure the vehicle is

driven in such a way that all the required

“Enabling Criteria” for the Monitor to run

& complete its diagnostic testing are met.

Scroll using the DOWN ▼ button until you

are done with the last procedure. 

When you have finished viewing

the Drive Cycle Procedure, press

the M button to return to the previous dialog.
